Video: IAC 2020 Conference Presentation

In this 20-minute talk, I share my best practices for creating psychological safety in design and research teams, depending on which stage your team is in. I gave this talk at the Information Architecture Conference in 2020, which was held remote with pre-recorded presentations. Want to bring this talk to your company or meetup? Contact me!

Resources

  • “Work with me” sheet: a link to a PDF you can download and use. You might want to recreate it in Google sheets, MURAL, etc. If you do use it or would like me to make a customizable template that you can use in Acrobat, MURAL, etc, please send me a note and let me know!

  • Retrospective templates: Atlassian has a great guest post on their blog from Realtime Board with five simple templates that can be used for team retros. MURAL also has a simple retro template (“went well”, “didn’t go well”, and “actions”) that you can use with remote teams.
