Custom workshops can include a mixture of training, facilitation, and team-building—I’ll lead you through choosing the best mix for your team’s needs.

Design Discovery (online)

Want to design innovative products that your users will love? In this fun, fast-paced course your team will learn how to create products in a human-centered way using discovery methods and a process called Design Thinking. I’ll lead you through the various stages of Design Thinking and introduce methods that you’ll then practice yourself. You’ll leave with a toolkit of new ideas and activities you can immediately to come up with more successful product ideas.

Storytelling in UX (online)

Do you struggle to create a vision for your product or concisely explain your ideas? Are you looking to give more engaging and compelling presentations? Learn how the power of stories can help you get buy-in, learn from users, and be more persuasive. This course will contain lots of examples of ways we use storytelling in UX design.

Courageous Coaching and Forthright Feedback

Giving feedback is a crucial skill for product leaders to help their teams grow and develop valuable self-perception. We know that individual growth results in higher performance and less employee turnover. But how many of us feel truly confident giving constructive feedback or coaching others? In this interactive workshop, you’ll go beyond the basics and learn the nuances of effective coaching and feedback for design teams. You’ll come away with new ideas for how to effectively coach and mentor designers, resulting in happier and more successful teams!

Through this half-day course, your leadership team will:

• Learn the difference between feedback and coaching, and when and how to use each style

• Practice giving constructive feedback in a way that has a higher chance of leading to behavior change, based on real-world examples of the participants’ choosing

• Learn how to use a growth framework tool to have more fruitful coaching conversations with direct reports

• Find out how to give designers direction based on their unique skill sets and career paths

Who is it for?

This course is best suited for team leads or people who are managing designers or user researchers. Some knowledge of the basics of managing and feedback will help (for example, experience having one-on-one sessions with direct reports or facilitating design feedback sessions). However, individual contributors who give feedback to others as a part of their role will also find the tips and methods applicable in their day to day job.
